DESCRIPTION:Join us at Barrel Chest Wine & Beer for a post-Primary Dems After Dark and food drive benefitting Feeding Southwest Virginia. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nOur Democratic candidates are selected. The ballots are set. We’re heading to Election Day November 2025. Keep an eye on RVDW’s Engage. Act. Vote. page for continuous updates and actions! \n\n\n\nWe’ll pass out yard signs and swag of local and state candidates. We hope everyone is ready to get to work to win up and down the ballot in November! \n\n\n\nBring a friend or three! Let’s celebrate winning teamwork with an evening of socializing and sharing. \n\n\n\nFood Drive\n\n\n\nFood insecurity\, exacerbated by cuts to assistance to the most vulnerable among us\, is a harsh reality in Southwest Virginia.  During this Dems After Dark event\, we are holding a food drive to benefit Feeding Southwest Virginia\, our Southwest Virginia food bank that “nourishes neighbors across 26 counties and nine cities in [our] region.” \n\n\n\nItems most needed include: Peanut Butter\, Canned Meats\, Canned Vegetables\, Canned Fruits\, Beans\, Rice\, Pasta\, Soup\, and 100% Juice. \n\n\n\nPer Feeding Southwest Virginia\, things to consider when deciding what to donate:Give with respect. Please only donate items that are unopened and in their original packaging. Do not donate expired\, damaged\, or partially used products. Consider the nutrient density of what you are donating. Opt for canned goods packed in water or items that are low sodium or low sugar. When available\, pop-top cans and other easy-open containers help make food more accessible.
