At a time when voting rights continue to face challenges\, commemorating this milestone serves as a powerful reminder of the progress made and the work still needed to ensure a truly inclusive democracy. \n\n\n\nElecting Democrats in Virginia in 2025 is pivotal for safeguarding and advancing voting rights and civil liberties in the Commonwealth.  \n\n\n\n\nIt’s Democrats who introduced bills to prevent voter roll purges\, especially affecting military families\, and to strengthen election board responsibilities. \n\n\n\nIt’s Democrats who initiated a constitutional amendment guaranteeing the restoration of voting rights for individuals who have completed felony sentences. \n\n\n\nIt’s Democrats who initiated constitutional amendments to protect reproductive freedom\, abortion rights\, and marriage equality.\n\n\n\n\nThese initiatives face opposition from Republicans.
