TRIAD: Ensuring Seniors Are Informed & Safe

In turbulent times, experts agree that strong community and caring for one another are our best protections against despair, isolation, and victimization. Senior citizens are among the most vulnerable to these challenges.
Roanoke Valley Democratic Women welcomes Tameka Paige as our guest speaker this month. Tameka will introduce us to TRIAD, its programs, and the importance of the agency’s presence in our communities. TRIAD is a cooperative effort of law enforcement agencies, senior citizens, and senior organizations with a goal of reducing the fear of crime and victimization among seniors.
Join us Friday, March 28 at The Green Goat, 802 Wiley Dr SW, Roanoke, VA 24015. Our program begins at 12:00 noon followed by the business meeting. If ordering lunch, please arrive early. Lunch orders will be taken until 11:45am.
Triad was established in 1988 when three national organizations agreed that the elderly could better be protected by cooperative efforts. The relationship was cemented when the organizations - the American Association of Retired Persons (AARP), International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP), and the National Sheriffs' Association (NSA) - signed a cooperative agreement.
